Many have voiced their agreement with your objection. I didn't like
the idea at first. Come to think of it, however, it could be nice if
it's not too difficult (i.e., wouldn't take much time to implement,
and wouldn't bloat the program much). Many people, including me,
leave their email program running all the time, hence a good
candidate to double duty as a NTP client (which typically takes up a
slot in the system tray while doing very little). It doesn't have to
be fancy (no need for multiple NTP server setup, e.g.).
But let me stress that the two conditions I mentioned are important.
Otherwise I would rather they don't do it.
