Not better, but different. I think TB handles it better. But we are
starting to go around in circles.

No. In fact, v2 will allow external editors. Does that mean TBv2 will
be a GUI with no functionality of its own?
An editor is needed to edit mails. TB - like other MUA's - have an
internal editor, so this can be accomplished. However, it's not the
core business of an MUA to edit; that's what editors do. If you use
Pine, you can set it to use any editor you want to use (vim springs to
mind). So, does that mean I can use the editor alone and just sendmail
the text file? Yes, I can.
But I expect my email client to do a lot more than just send amil. Look
at the Ritlabs home page for a brief summary of the major functions
that TB performs apart, apart from sending mail.
