Just between you and me, Marck, comparing smoking, a disgusting habit that
shortens and degrades life spans, with putting two spaces after a period at
the end of a sentence is a bit much.

But there is *nothing* inappropriate about putting two spaces after a
period at the end of a sentence. Many people think it improves
readability. The comparison, and the term 'inappropriate', seem
inappropriate to me. <g> If large numbers of people think it improves
readability, then coders should accommodate that view.

<whew> Thank goodness.

Switching e-mail clients would be another option, I guess. <g>

It's a good question, but I'm sure there must be a way to do it. I can't
help but believe knottier problems have been solved by computer engineers
in the past. ^_^
