This means that Pegasus' ability to invoke a browser is not really
relevant to this issue since it does this 'internally' rather than via
a system association.
YT> But I usually leave MSIE set as the system default browser,
YT> because I've found that monkeying around with this aspect of a
YT> Windows platform usually results in some undesirable behavior
YT> someplace.
Tell me about it. I was getting explorer crashes with my last Win2k
installation and I strongly suspect this was the culprit.
YT> Then I turn off the notification in Netscape that pops up asking
YT> if you want to set it as the default browser. Netscape seems quite
YT> content to live its life as Number 2, even though I really use it
YT> as Number 1. ^_^ But to be honest with you, I've forgotten how to
YT> verify that MSIE is the default, although I'm pretty sure it is.
You could open a folder, go to 'Tools' menu, select 'Options' and
under 'Options' select "file types". You can check the associations
there.
YT> And key here, I think, is that MSIE is geting launched by TB!. So
YT> if it wasn't the default browser, that wouldn't be happening
YT> according to what you wrote above. But something is not working
YT> right, because the page load is failing with an error message . .
YT> . cannot load.
Hmmm. Is DDE enabled in the file association? Which OS are you using
anyway?
