No. There isn't a switch available to toggle off templates. The Bat!
is heavily template driven and the only way to eliminate templates
appearing is to actually delete the template in the template editor,
otherwise you have to delete the template each time.

However you could do something that would make life a little easier
than having to delete the new message template each time.

Create a quick template which contains only the macro %Clear. Give it
a short handle name like 'cl'. Whenever you create a new message and
wish not to use the template, just type 'cl' and then
<ctrl><backspace>.
