Seconded. Another problem is that, even when the toolbars are arranged
down the sides of the screen, the icons are difficult to "hit" because
their clickable area doesn't stretch right to the edge of the screen.
This is a well-known problem:

(The whole 'toolbar and icon' part of the program is probably the most
old-fashioned part of The Bat!, being highly inflexible; in the end I
learnt the key shortcuts, such as F8 for bringing up the address
book).

The first point is rather nicely tackled by AK-Mail* which allows
folders to be created which aren't attached to a particular account.
So you could do things like filtering all incoming mail from the 7
accounts into one 'Universal Inbox' folder at the root level and take
it from there. Such floating folders would be a worthwhile addition to
The Bat! IMO.
As for Incredimail - a triumph of form over function!
That said, it does strike at the weak point of The Bat! which is its
lack of flexibility; it's often noted that WinZip has a user interface
designed by programmers and I think that criticism has some validity
here.

I learned that lesson in the dark ages when the United Kingdom had
metered telephone rates for Internet connectivity :) Forums are all
very well when you're not paying by the minute to read them; the
geographical diversity of the participants is fantastic and I'd say a
fair proportion *are* paying by the minute so would prefer to have
something which can be handled offline if necessary.
