you likely are getting the Magister virus.
If this is the case it NEEDS cleaning as it cam depending on
circumstances kill your data and bios adter 4 weeks.
It also collects mail and data and resends them elsewhere.

Anyway as you are using the bat, just run an AV program and clean and
donot forget to remove the file which you may have now being run at
startup.
The virus DOES infect your network and while you will have little
problems, like people using Eudora, anyone with outlook/oe and I think
netscape needs proper cleanup  and it seems that cleaning up isnt a
foolproof fixing of all files as I had 2 systems which kept refusing
to go on the internet.
Anyway, disconnect all systems from the network before cleaning them.
have a look at www.avp.com, they have a specialised cleaner for this
virus if you reAlly do have the magistr...
Names of files mat vary as it encrypts them depending on your system
name.
