The correct way for the experiment:

1. Compose a message in the editor with "From" starting a line
(without quotation marks).
2. Send the message *to the Outbox* - not directly.
3. Now look at the message in your Outbox.

Caveat: Don't save the massage as a Draft! Use the toolbar button
Outbox (second from the left) or F2.
