Actually, I ran TB under wine for a while, and there were no real problems.  
It does act a bit funny (sometimes things don't resize properly) but what do 
you expect, considering the circumstances.

The only real problems that I had were with respect to the TB installer... it 
just died with wine -- codeweavers preview 3.  My solution was to copy the 
installation from my fiance's computer, and then just throwing in my own MAIL 
files...

Now, of course, I don't use TB anymore... I'm going to wait for a Linux 
version.  And if that doesn't come, I'll write my own MUA.  *shrug*.
