Hello Steve,
Historians believe that Thu, 31 May 2001 at 11:43 GMT -0700 was when,
Steve [S] typed the following:

S> sending RICH text, it seems to have no rich text editor..
That is correct. For now you must use an external program and send
the file as an attachment.
S> it would be great if they would add a
S> rich text editor to the current message editor.
The current beta-series just introduced DDE interface commands. It
should be easy for someone to make an external editor interface with
TB. Unfortunately, this is beyond my abilities, but I'm sure some of
the more capable beta-testers are already hard at work on a solution.
S> I'm considering purchasing this program but found it quite odd
S> there was no Rich text sending capabilities.
TB does plain text e-mail, and it does it very well. There is
speculation that external editors could be used with version 2. The
RIT guys have now added an interface that might make that speculation
a reality.
To avoid a HTML/PlainText holy war, here is the brief conclusion of
every mega-thread on the subject.
Many consider formatted e-mail (RichText, HTML, etc) to be offensive.
In reality, it depends on the situation. It is easy to overuse
formatting, but when done properly, it can be quite effective.
Unfortunately, some mailers use formatted (HTML) mail by default, when
it is not appropriate.
