This is the official killing off of this thread, although it has
already clearly terminated itself. There are some points about the way
the thread progressed that need to be addressed before it is closed
completely. No replies are necessary. If anyone wants to say anything
about it, do so off list please.
1) In future please try keep the OT joviality out of the way of the
start of a thread - people do become frustrated when their
legitimate questions are ignored for the sake of humour.
2) Personal attacks will always be greeted with a moderator's
intervention, whatever the provocation.
3) If you want to challenge the intervention of a moderator, do so
off-list. It is important that the moderator's authority is taken
seriously here otherwise we'll end up with a free-for-all and
flame-war chaos.
