No, it is not a character fault, it was a reasonable attempt on
humour. I found it, BTW, quite funny in a chuckling not
laughing-out-loud manner.
Some weeks ago I read some comments on the list that they are
considered "uninviting"; well, I still find them the most inviting and
friendly lists i know of. But it seems that some people don't like the
concept of a community. Comments like the ones
misinterpreting/-quoting you I usually am used to find in German
newsgroups, where everybody is part of a non-existent Internet police
telling others how they have to behave. Even if they behaved
reasonable and sensible.
