You have to use your cable provider's server, not your dial-up
provider's. The same thing would happen, if you tried to send from
your dial-up account through your cable's mail server (this way ISP's
protect themselves from spamming; if your cable provider doesn't have
it's own SMTP server, find one of the freely available
[www.operamail.com has SMTP support AFAIK])
