That depends.

Two accounts can go on auto responding each others auto responses
forever.

Smart auto-responders check whether they have been sent to the address
before, so they shouldn't go over and over again.

Real smart users of auto responders take care that their auto
responders aren't being sent to mailing lists and spammers. (The last
thing you'd want is to tell a spammer that there's a real account
behind the address that he's spamming.)

For dumb auto responders it's very possible to send a message again
and again to the same address.

You asked: What if two auto responders....
But one auto responder is enough to wreak havoc to a mailing list. It
gets a message from the list, sends a return message, gets that return
message back from the list, sends a .... and so on.

An important thing for auto responders is that you check for strings
like "auto responder", "automatic reply", "your message" and that you
don't send automatic replies to those addresses, but on a mailing list
(like you stated in your first message) you've go to be more secure
with messages you don't want to deliver to the subscribers, because
strings like those are quite on topic on a list like TBUDL.
