If the message bases were deleted, go directly to DOS (if you have Win2k, use bootdisk) when starting the computer, and try to use Norton's UnErase (or similar program). If you're lucky, you'll be able to recover the files (note that this will only work on FAT16 and FAT32 drives. I don't know what to do if you have NTFS).
