Well, yes and no. ;-) There are some work arounds, but they aren't
all obvious.

The best way around this one is: create both your default and group
templates as quick templates. Now in your address book group
template, use the following:
,----- [ Begin AB template ] -----
|
| %IF:'%-
| %SETPATTREGEXP="(?i)((.*\@){3,}|.*\<list\>)"%-
| %REGEXPMATCH="%TOLIST%CCLIST%BCCLIST"%-
| '<>'':'%-
| %QINCLUDE="<group template QT>"%-
| ':'%-
| %QINCLUDE="<default template QT>"'
|
`----- [ End AB Template ] -----
This will use the group template if you have 3 or more addresses in
the recipient fields (TO, CC or BCC). Group templates will also be
used if one of the recipient fields contains "<list>".
For everything else, the default template will be used. While you're
at it, change your account default templates to refer to the quick
template you just created. In other words, change the templates under
Account -> Properties to:
%QINCLUDE="<default template QT>"
Note: For the sake of completeness, remember to use the quick
templates' handles in place of <default template QT> and
<group template QT>. It was probably obvious, but...

If I remember correctly, in the current release version, you can
change where the auto-complete looks for matches. Check:
Options -> Preferences -> System

Unfortunately, TB's address book can't handle further organization of
groups. Perhaps you should make a feature request (see the options
under the help menu).

Well, you can't really speed it up any. Unfortunately you are being a
bit "tricky", so the procedure isn't as easy as it could be.

If you stick with groups, then you can add addresses many ways,
including by filters.
RR> Sorry for the somewhat long post.
No problem.
