Click on the Received column header. The mails are sorted in ascending
order of receipt. Click again, and they are in descending order of
receipt.
Click on the sender, and they are sorted by sender. And son on.
Also try (in Folder View) View / Sort by.
BTW over here, I have set it as follows:
View / View Thread by / References (Alt+1)
View / Sort by / Creation Time (Crtl+2)
Descending Order (Crtl+0)
