A search of the archives did not reveal an answer to my dilemma. About
a year ago I tried "The Bat" and while I liked it, decided that
MSIE was better suited for my needs. I can't remember how I uninstalled
it except I did NOT touch any registry settings (not brave enough) and
the uninstall went well with two exceptions.

The first was that for a time I was unable to open certain email
attachments. A search of this list's wonderful archives gave the fix
that remedied the problem.

The second problem is making me nuts. I often use www.ebates.com, a
site which provides a small cash rebate on any purchases from
participating business. This time of year the rebates add up to a nice
tidy sum. Since uninstalling "The Bat" I get the dread "URL not found"
page anytime I try to access www.ebates.com from my desktop PC. I'm
certain "The Bat" uninstall was the culprit because it happened for the
first time immediately after the uninstall AND I was able to access the
site from my laptop (which, with the exception of "The Bat" was a
perfect clone of my desktop configuration). Unfortunately, the laptop
just departed for that great computer graveyard in the sky (not to be
replaced for awhile) and I'm not happy thinking of all those little
pennies slipping through my fingers.

I know this problem is pretty weird but I would be such a happy camper
if someone can suggest a fix. The support team at www.ebates.com has
been unable to provide a solution. Thanks for taking the time to
respond. Micki
