I confirm this poblem, albeit not with large mails but with a large
number of mails (over 100, or over 200 per session). The indicator
will suddenly stop for many minutes while downloading for example
message 37/109. If I click "Delete task", the progess bar updates, but
it is by far not where it should be given the time elapsed.

BTW sometimes I think nothing happens; once the time elapsed was over
3 hours (I was away from the machine). I thought a timeout had been
introduced, but that seems to be not the case. True for 1.53t and
1.54b10.

This only happens with one account, though. I never mentioned anything
because I thought it might be the provider's fault (GMX).
