  About the only things -I- could suggest would be to encase the URL
  in the RFC1738-standard encapsulation, like so:

     <URL:http://this.is.my.url/~coolsite>

  or to use HTML, like:

<a href="http://this.is.my.url/~coolsite";>http://this.is.my.url/~coolsite</a>

   I don't know of the former will work, but I suspect the latter
   would, with AOL mail.
