The problem you have could have nothing to do with either mail client.
PGPTray is an application of its own, which should work correctly
after an install.

There are only two things that come to mind: Try a fresh install of
PGP. Or your version (I understand it is the original NAI version) has
a bug.

The only time you should have a problem with TB! concerning PGP is
with RITLab's plug-ins or the internal version.
