Hello Thomas. Thanks for replying to my post.

At 11:05 PM on Monday, December 31, 2001 you wrote the
following on the posted subject 'Quotes':

,----- [TB! Help File - quote style]
| The style of the quotation prefix is initially defined by the Sender
| information used for quotation option in the "Account | Properties |
| Templates | Reply" dialog. Example (John A. Smith is used as the sender)
|
|
| Option: Prefix
| None >
| Initials JAS>
| Name John>
| Last Name Smith>
| First Initial J>
| Full Name John A. Smith>
| This can be overridden within the template using the %QuoteStyle macro.

'-----

  Therefore if I define a Quotestyle = xyz1234>>, that's
  what I should get.

Here I've use %Quotestyle="=xyz1234>>" %QUOTES. See output below.

xyz1234>>> No, this is what you cannot do via the %QuoteStyle macro.

xyz1234>>> In order to change the ">" to something else, a user on the German
xyz1234>>> list suggested to copy the text you want to quote into the clipboard,
xyz1234>>> and then paste it into your reply via a regex that adds a character of
xyz1234>>> your choice to the beginning of every line.

JR>> To make matters really simple, if you *don't* use %QUOTESTYLE in

xyz1234>>> This is not quite correct. If you don't use the %QuoteStyle macro, the

This is what I get using %QUOTESTYLE="=" %QUOTES

> In order to change the ">" to something else, a user on the German

And if I use no %Quotestyle, TB! refers to default
templates, as it does in all cases, in which the above
could apply if it were set up that way, no?

I'm not quite sure what I'm missing & I would appreciate it
if you would straighten me out whenever you get a chance.

 TIA
