I was the exact same way, using Pegasus for years and an active
participant on the PMAIL list etc. The way pegasus dealt with
links was just really getting annoying (they'd get cut off, etc.)
so it prompted me to try out The Bat!. After one week, I bought it
also. Not saying Pegasus is a bad e-mail client (my second
favorite), it's just as you say not nearly as sleek. I know
"sleek" is such an ambiguous word but it's hard really to nail
down 'tons' of reasons to switch to The Bat! over Pegasus. For me,
the fact that when I pasted a link (no matter how long) they got
it correctly when done with The Bat! was reason alone enough for
me to switch. The template feature (which Pegasus doesn't have) is
just super powerful and really awesome. I also like the
address book set up much better in The Bat! but I still The Bat!
could improve on it in several ways (I'd like to be able to set up
sub groups of contacts and also when they fix the multiple email
addresses per user that would be great. Pegasus' contact list even
in the latest version was still much worse ). The whole interface seems
a lot cleaner in The Bat! also.

The only thing I've found that Pegasus was able to do that I wish
The Bat could do is I liked being able to right click on a message
and actually edit the subject. I know there was some discussion
here about the problems with that, but I found it useful. So for
fellow Batters what's the best way to get around this situation in
which I often used that feature- Some times you'll be e-mailing
back and forth with a long thread and you have all these emails
with re: and then the subject. Over time in the re: discussion the
message content might not even match the subject header. So say
for example in one of those messages someone tells me an unrelated
hint or tip about tweaking my computer or whatever. Now I want to
move this message to a saved folder but the subject really isn't
going to help me located that e-mail. I know I could use the
search feature, but is there a quick way that I could distinguish
this email in my saved folder? Changing the subject seemed like a
nice feature to me. I'm guessing The Bat! has something that you
could do, but I don't see it. I know there is a comments field but
I don't see how it works with received emails. Can anyone help
    here?

    Thanks,
