-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Greetings Paul
On 06 February 2002 at 15:15:54 +0000 (which was 15:15 where I live) Paul Gleave emanated these words of wisdom PG> I've reached a point in my anti-spam regime where simple filters are no PG> longer sufficient. I'd like to pre-process my mail with an app like PG> spamkiller just before the mail is collected. Does anyone know whether PG> it is possible to get TB launch a program in this way before the mail is PG> collected? I know that this does not answer your question. but I hope that it helps. I am not sure what your filters are but this was from Tony Boom <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> on another TB list. ==========8<============================================================= Here is how I do it. I have these two text files in folder "The Bat!/Spam Strings" I have two filters, one called "Spam Originators" the other called "Spam Subjects" with the respective radio button ticked. Both filters created under the "Selective Download" section. Under the Advanced Tab I have "Action = Kill" and "Any String Match" ticked. Tick the box that says "Load signal string from file" and then navigate to the respective file for each filter. If you do get any mail that slips through then the relevant string just needs adding to the respective text file. You may need to copy each filter to each of your accounts but it is still only one of two text files that would need to be updated. You don't need copies of the text files for each account. I know zip files to the list are not strictly acceptable but they have been V scanned and there maybe more than one person who wants the enclosed text files... And the only people who need to worry are the ones who are not using TB! :) The files are not originally mine but were supplied to me by someone on this list, I forget who. Bear in mind that using these filters can slow down the download process marginally as each mail is checked on the server, and if necessary deleted *before* being downloaded. Hope this helps you Daniel and anyone else who is prone to the "Monty Python Syndrome". ==========8<============================================================= I don't think that attachments are allowed on this list so I have put the zip on http://www.download.work4theweb.com/Personal/ called spam.zip.
