If I understand you correctly, I disagree.

In TB!, a user can create totally different personalities, different
in all settings, and still sort mail from one account to the other's
folders, and also choose, when replying or sending, which account to
send from. The key to all of that is first to create an
administrative account. This should be done, anyway, with multiple
users or multiple accounts. Then create the separate accounts. If
you already have the separate accounts set up, create another one for
an administrator. Then go in--this may only be possible at this point
from one of the various accounts--to Options/Network and
Administration/Privileges. Change the privileges so that only the
administrative account has administrative privileges. (It is possible
to let one of your accounts have these privileges, but it is more
flexible in the long run to keep the administrator separate.) Then go
into the Groups tab, next to Privileges. Organize your accounts into
one group. Name the group and, if you wish, set a password. Then,
when you log in, log in to the group name. The accounts within that
group will come up (you can have them separately passworded or remove
the p/w since the group is p/w'ed.) From each of the accounts, the
Account/Sorting Office and Filters options will include the folders of
the other group members, i.e., to sort incoming mail, the folder to
which it should be moved will include the folders of the other
accounts as well as the active account. In addition, when sending
mail, the From block has a drop-down menu which includes the other
accounts within the group (if you have logged in as the group and not
as one of the individual accounts).

If I properly understood your concerns, this should let you do what
you want.
