I don't know if it's most typical of Americans (or just typical of
humans in general) that first we create the problem, then we try to
manage the problem. Rarely do we backtrack and try to "undo" the
original problems we created. Instead, we institutionalize them and
their associated management systems. We create industries out of them.
Crazy, in my opinion, but it keeps us busy. We say we are "making
progress."
