You should compress your Inbox and see if this helps.
Even though messages may be filtered to other folders, a copy still
remains in the inbox message base, even though it isn't included in the
Inbox index file which is why you don't see filtered messages in the
Inbox message list. You should compress the inbox folder regularly, or
any other folder from which you frequently delete a lot of messages.
