I apologize for replying to my own message, but I want to add
something I should have mentioned before...

Sometimes, people using mailers like OE send "multi-part/alternative"
messages - with separate plain text and HTML parts (but basically just
a text message). Usually, TB! has no trouble displaying the HTML part
if the "message.htm" tab is selected. I just noticed when I tried this
on one such message, while the plain text portion displayed properly,
the HTML part displayed only two non-standard characters ("��") - but
no message.

This never happened with 1.53t, which always displayed HTML as
expected (properly, minus external images, etc.).
