First, I wanted to say "thanks" to everyone who have been posting such great tips on using filters for spam collection/elimination. I have learned more about filters from this discussion in the last week than in the year+ I've been using TB!.
Question: based on the tips given, I've figured out how to use alternate strings in a single rule (a | b), and alternate sets ((a & b) | (c & d)), and checking the entire address against an address book. What I would like to do is filter against an external file of strings. That is, if sender contains any of the strings stored in file "bad domains" or "trigger words", where said file would simply be one string per line in the file. Can this be done? While I can see keeping a "table" of strings in the rule itself either with "|" or with alternate sets, I am concerned with whatever limitations there might be on the size of a filter rule. Also, an external file is, IMO, easier to maintain and share with my associates. Thanks to all for interesting and helpful information coming across this list. -- Regards, Clif ________________________________________________________ Current Ver: 1.60c FAQ : http://faq.thebat.dutaint.com Unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Archives : http://tbudl.thebat.dutaint.com Moderators : mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] TBTech List: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]
