In you use a mailto: URL that's in a message to create a new message, the address defined by the %To macro will also be added to the message To: address field. For example, for this list, we get a lot of subscription messages being posted to it. We have filters at the server that prevent their actually reaching the list. When you look at the headers, it would typically say: To: [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED] or To: [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED] The second address is added by the %To macro. Say you wish to send a sensitive private message to one of the list members. You don't have his/her address in your address book and it's sitting right there in the signature of one of the persons posts. You click on it only to generate a message addressed to both the list and the person. Be VERY careful when using the %TO macro in those folder templates. - -- Allie C Martin -- List Moderator and fellow end user PGP Key - mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?Subject=2B0717E2 TB! v1.60c on Windows XP 5.1.2600 _ -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- iEYEARECAAYFAjyyO3IACgkQV8nrYCsHF+IIwwCgxBadhchYj2N1r3hPEcMF84Cg 6asAn3Fs8Q1+U96vVf7lZ++BLAzTnTQV =Jvid -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- ________________________________________________________ Current Ver: 1.60c FAQ : http://faq.thebat.dutaint.com Unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Archives : http://tbudl.thebat.dutaint.com Moderators : mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] TBTech List: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]
