GPG Shell and WinPT install directories don't have to be in your
system path for them to work.

You have to ensure that gpg.exe (the gnupg executable) is in a
directory in your system path. Only if you place it in a directory
other than one already in your system path, do you need to edit your
system path. You can place gpg.exe in your Windows system directory
and it will work without having to alter your system path.
