Benefit of (automated) e-mail sending: You are more in control of your
key and who has it. You don't have to look for any tempering.

Benefit of key server: for a web of trust necessary, since keys have
to be available not just for download but also for signing.

Phil Zimmermann himself dealt with the benefits and drawbacks of the
various methods in his Introductory.*
