It's always a good idea to do a full backup first - I think you're using a version which pre-dates the built-in backup. If it doesn't, use that. If it does, backup the MAIL folder (Zip?) and the HKCU/Software/RIT registry key. Once you've done that, just install over the top. If all goes well, it should all just work without a blink.
