Could a message header not be created by a template that
contains a unique code for each folder? I've looked through the
macros a little and there does not seem to be an obvious (to me,
that is) way of adding custom headers in a template.

The only viable alternative to a custom header that I could see was
to hi-jack the comment header for this purpose. Would this be a
disgraceful abuse of such a header? I don't honestly think I've seen
a mail client that uses this header, but I'm no mail expert.
