Three ways:

- - In the editor's status bar, right click the block selection (the
space occupied by the word 'stream') and a context menu should appear
from where you can select.

- - Use the keyboard shortcuts: ctrl-o k Stream selection
                              ctrl-o c Column selection
                              ctrl-o l Line selection

- - Mouse - keyboard combinations: Shift+Mouse select - Stream
                                  Ctrl+Mouse select - Line
                                  Alt+Mouse select - Column

TM> Also, how do you "ndent whole text blocks and paste text indented"?

To indent text blocks, select the text block and hit Ctrl+K I
To unindent text blocks, select the text block and hit Ctrl+K U

To paste text indented, select column mode and then paste the text
after placing the cursor how far in you wish to have the text
inserted. Note one weakness/bug/fault here. You need to provide the
needed space for this or else the text will be inserted in the midst
of other text. The other text will not be moved out of the way. The
better way would be to paste it the usual way and then indent it as
needed using the above shortcuts.
