Been using The Bat! for quite some time now, but hadn't bothered with an upgrade - recently the notebook started dying, so we had to migrate to a new one. I checked the instructions in the FAQ and ended up backing up everything from within the old Bat! installation, then went ahead and re-installed the newest version on the new computer, restored the backup, re-entered the registration info.
Worked fine... once. Now every time I open the program it quits almost immediately (logo comes up, window comes up, tip of the day comes up, then it disappears.) I've had SOME success in getting back in by manually copying the old .EXE from the previous machine over (usually to discover multiple copies of the most recent emails in the inbox) but EVERY time I uninstall and re-install 1.60q I have the same problem - works fine once, then never again. Sorry if this has been discussed to death already, I only just joined the list.
