No. It can't and it won't do that.
This is something additional, because not everybody might have activated
'real-time scanning'. So this people can let check files they get via
e-mail automatically.

The PlugIn is in no way capable to interfere your normal AV-operations, it
just can call AV-funtions at additional times/hook the AV-software normally
might not 'see' (like receiving a message: for AV-software this is simple
network traffic, it doesn't know anything about the type of traffic [except
NAV, I know; but that's a special case!]).
