I couldn't agree more. The whole management of contacts in TB is
it's weakest point. I really wish they would improve it. My two
major complaints are:
1) Lack of synch ability to the Palm.
I'm not really sure why this isn't a big deal to RitLabs. As has
been mentioned by others there are lot of people who stick with
Outlook because it integrates so well with other stuff. ( Off
topic, but is there any way when I get those outlook e-mails from
work that have a calendar event on them that I can import them
into some other calendar software? As it is I have to manually
enter the stuff into Palm desktop ..or more realistically just
forget about the meeting until someone reminds me:)
2) The organization of the contacts.
It don't like that my lists are all integrated with the contacts.
For example you should be able to create a Family, Work, Friends
contacts- which the bat does fine. But then say you want to
create a List of people that you talk to about football and they
come from the three above groups you end up making another Group
called Football. Now you have Family, Work, Friends, and Football
as a long list of contacts. Make so much more sense to have
another tab or some other menu item to view lists (which would be
created from the contact groups). It's so ugly having them
integrated like that. (Of course maybe I'm creating lists all
wrong, which if it is the case, someone please help:)
The Bat is still the best, I just wish they would improve upon
their contact management system.
