Are you sure you've generated a hash to an authentic download?? It doesn't matter if it was successfully installed either. I think that comparing hash's is a ridiculous exercise in most instances. What makes simply giving the download source inadequate and providing a hash any better, *unless* the hash comes from someone official and who has signed his message with a trusted PGP key?
