-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi Daniel,
@20-Aug-2002, 14:41 -0400 (19:41 UK time) Daniel Grunberg [DG] in [EMAIL PROTECTED]">mid:[EMAIL PROTECTED] said to Marck: DG> Putting my thanks to Elaine above what I quoted was the quickest DG> way I could think of to show that my thanks were specifically DG> directed to Elaine. Thank you for listening. Just to clarify the main issue here: some list servers would have dropped your post as being of unreasonable balance - the quoted material versus new material ratio was way off. Some servers will automatically throw out messages with ratios of greater than say 4:1. A sound-byte of what you are thanking the person for followed by "thank you for that" is more responsible use of bandwidth. What's a 1.5kb quote block to you is 1.5mb to a server sending in onwards to 1000 people. Top posting is only objectionable because it allows reply authors to remain blissfully ignorant of what may lie beyond the edge of the window they are busy typing at the top of. It encourages the laziness not to look beyond what they are typing. Convenience of sender every time. - -- Cheers -- .\\arck D Pearlstone -- List moderator TB! v1.61 on Windows 2000 5.0.2195 Service Pack 2 -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: 6.5.8ckt build 09 beta 3 iQA/AwUBPWLFIDnkJKuSnc2gEQLfwwCfS12PkoDbjYY0/gWlAcBKmLXyB9EAmwd8 qVBH7V2iQMXzlCpbjHKEtlj5 =yPoa -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- ________________________________________________________ Current version is 1.61 | "Using TBUDL" information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
