Don't worry. You weren't the only one.

You'll find that address book templates work well for most of your
template needs. You may still need to use folder templates here and
there. I still use a couple. The stock lecture is about the %To and
%CC macros being used with folder templates and not just folder
templates in and of themselves. They're quite safe to use once you
avoid using those macros. However, you need to have the folder
selected to use the macros within them and here lies the weakness in
folder templates. Address book templates will be triggered when
messages are addressed to specific recipients or recipient groups,
*no matter which folder or account* is selected at the time the
message is generated. This makes for a far better template home for
most situations.
