Hello All, I'm using The Bat! 6.1 and am having problems sending mail through my ATT broadband Webmail account when connected through AOL while traveling. I can receive mail no problem. And OE set up like ATT requires has not problems with sending mail either as described here: http://help.broadband.att.com/faq.jsp?content_id=1753&category_id=9#traveloe.
I set up the smpt connection with authentication in the Account Properties screen. I choose Secure to dedicated port (TLS) and choose port 465 as listed. In the authentication box I check Perform smpt Authentication, and use specific settings with my e-mail address as the user with my password as well. I only get a message in the Log saying Initiating TLS handshake and then nothing more - not very helpful information. I've tried all sorts of ways to configure this but to no avail. I suspect it is a problem with the MD5 verification attempts (I have this unchecked, but the documentation says The Bat! tries to do this anyway) or the use of the user name instead of OE's use of account name. Perhaps there is some sort of code to enter in the user box to fix this? If anybody else has a solution I would appreciate it. Or any other way to send out messages through 'The Bat!' while traveling. My Netzero account won't work either. I want to use The Bat! because it is better than OE, but if I can't configure it to work with my accounts I'll have to abandon it. -- Best regards, slug mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] ________________________________________________ Current version is 1.61 | "Using TBUDL" information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
