Maybe. Although I don't think I'd ever use it. As a default it is a problem. Elsewhere in this thread are reports of TB moving the cursor to the top of the list. It only happens when the previously selected message has moved or been deleted. One of TB's premier features is its memory of what you were up to last on a per-folder basis. If the cursor moved to the first unread message by *default*, this would really disrupt the way *I* use TB by losing track of the message I left selected in that folder because I was doing "something with it". If browsing by unread is a primary feature, why not make friends with the ticker? You can minimise the on-screen size and push it to a margin so that a small amount of it shows and it doesn't intrude. Behind it lies a virtual folder brim-full of all unread messages. Browsing new mail in the ticker virtual folder (with the message list showing) means that your positions in the main folders remains unchanged. If you need to zoom in on a thread, just double click it in the message list and a folder view opens to show you that message in its own folder and within its own thread. It's been a while since I evangelised on the topic of the ticker, so this one's probably overdue <g>. - -- Cheers -- .\\arck D Pearlstone -- List moderator TB! v1.62/Beta6 on Windows 2000 5.0.2195 Service Pack 2 ' -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.0-nr2 (Windows 2000) iD8DBQE9sTI0OeQkq5KdzaARAgIHAJ9oYxTobaCpCNhcydG/fxkc4IdduwCgp4PV e8dB+3NhPTidv7Li5e6a1f4= =yb+G -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- ________________________________________________ Current version is 1.61 | "Using TBUDL" information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
