Hi all

Better than RETR use TOP, because you can retrieve only headers (top
msg# 0) or n first lines (top msg# n) or the entire message (top msg#
99999 or using retr here).

Also, I've found out that using TOP the POP server does not mark the
message as read (although I haven't found many servers or clients who
honors this) because you are not asking for RETRieval but for watching
the first TOP lines... And you don't have to download a 1.5 Mb message
to find out the message is spam... TOP is also the command used by
Mail Dispatcher. My program uses TOP n to retrieve headers & first
lines, and a button let you download more lines or the entire message
if required.
