I gave you a bum steer - I just checked my own setup and you are right - only incoming mail is scanned. I sent out eicar test virus and NOD didn't react. In my defense, I sure I saw reference to incoming/outgoing scanning in the help file but I can't find it now. Also, IMHO i'm not sure it's necessary anyway because if nod hasn't picked up the system is infected, an outgoing email scanner is not really going to be much use. Sorry for the bum steer.
