Hello TBUDL, I don't know what the correct term for this is, but I thought TB would choose a secure log-in procedure when checking mail, if the POP server supports it. So I have not set Authentication for POP check under Transport.
Turns out that TB sends the password in clear text to GMX. I have to manually change the setting under Transportation to CRAM-MD5 and then everything is fine.
