Hello TBUDL'ers, I realize this has been touched upon in the archives, but I've been doing some experimenting and thought I'd share for sake of perhaps getting further in my travails...
I'm trying to import the contacts from my company's Outlook program to The Bat. I think I've made *some* headway, compared to previous attempts. I found a program called Dawn (http://www.joshie.com/projects/dawn/). Using that, I was able to go: 1. From Outlook to Outlook Express (via CSV file...even though I know this part isn't necessary) 2. From Outlook Express to LDIF (via Dawn) 3. Import from LDIF to TB It works pretty darn well. The problem is this: there are many empty-titled entries at the head of the newly imported address list...these entries contain phone numbers that for some reason belong to some of the other entries but somehow have been orphaned in the process of importing. The imported address list in Dawn (the middle step between importing from OE and exporting to TB) has all of the information intact without orphans. Wondering whether or not it was the import method or The Bat, I tried a similar method whereas I imported into Lotus Organizer. The phone numbers came along (attached to their parent entries), but when exporting to a format that TB Addressbook would read, the same phone number problem appears. This *could* mean that the problem lies with the TB Addressbook, and not the outgoing conversion from Outlook. Barring these orphaned phone numbers, it seems this conversion using Dawn is promising. Has anyone tried this, tried something better? I've attempted the WAB-LDIF method using the downloadable convert-tool, but nothing aside from the method I used above transfers *all* of the entries over. (note: I posted this on Don Zeigler's BB...I will cc anything useful I receive via this list to there. I hope no one minds the unintentional duplicity). -- Matt Cahill Rhombus Media Toronto ON [EMAIL PROTECTED] tel: (416) 971-7856 fax: (416) 971-9647 ________________________________________________ Current version is 1.62 | "Using TBUDL" information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
