When I am downloading mail from the server, if the process gets timed
out or my connection drops before the session is complete the next time
I attempt to download it always starts over with the first message
again, even though it has allegedly deleted already downloaded messages
from the server. (It is set to delete messages from the server, not
retain them.) Today I had 85 messages in my main account, and it timed
out several times, each time starting over at the beginning.

I decided to use dispatch from server to delete already received
messages from the server and then try to download the remaining
messages. Id not used the feature before, so I tried it on a
secondary account first, and to my surprise the five messages Id
already downloaded from that account were still there. I then deleted
them, and when I checked messages again on that account there were
none. But when I tried to do the same to the main account, it kept
dropping after receiving the first header.

Im reasonably sure that the reason the download from my main account
repeatedly dropped today is related to some problem at their end.
However, the problem of TB! not deleting downloaded messages if the
connection is dropped in the middle of a download session is common.
(And dropping connections or processes timing out is common here
because of bad phone lines. (Im currently posted to Uzbekistan.))

Is this a known bug? (Im using v1.62i.) Is there anything I can do to
rectify it? Not only is it a bit frustrating, even though its
relatively easy to delete dupes, its also expensive, since my dial-up
here in Uzbekistan charges both by the hour and the kb of e-mail
downloaded from the account here.

Thanks.
Rick
