Did you try to define the keys in TB's shortcut editor?
 View -> Edit schortcuts
Find the function you want to bind, select it and press the button
you'd like to bind it to.
I don't know whether it works but it's worth a try.

I thought you wanted to bind TB to functions while you were not yet
running it, but now I think you want to access functions while you've
opened it already. In the latter case there are no available
commandline options. And if your keyboard really needs them the only
thing you can use is the /send option.
