Your explanation is clear. Sorry, that's not currently supported.
Views are global - not folder specific.
One way to handle in Inbox is to always leave it empty as I do. All
mail is filtered to a folder :-)
You can also simplify your work by defining a shortcut (Alt-F12) such
as Alt-U to view unread. (Caution: there are several places this
needs to be defined.) You can get back to view all by <Esc> or
Ctrl-=.
One other thing. If you don't want unread to apply to all folders,
hit <enter> on a mail in a folder to bring up the Folder View.
Hitting Alt-U (or whatever you picked) will only apply to the Folder
View - unfortunately it does stick, so when you go to Folder View
again you'll need to press your shortcut key again. You can also sort
the Folder View differently from folders (by clicking on Subject for
example) - this does stick.
